We are highly-trained professional tutors specializing in dyslexic individuals who struggle with reading and especially spelling. We work 1-on-1 with students (in-person and remotely) ages 6 and up, all of whom can read (up to a point), yet they have great difficulty sounding out an unknown word - despite being taught phonics.
We provide specialized tutoring which goes above and beyond what a traditional school or homework tutor is equipped to offer. We fully customize each student’s lesson plan to best address their areas of strength and weakness, using the time-tested Structured Literacy (previously called the Orton-Gillingham approach). This explicit research-based teaching for reading and spelling restores hope, self-esteem and builds self-confidence.
Who can be a student?
*A Barton student must:
Be at least 5 years old and in kindergarten
Can speak and comprehend English
This is not for children with a receptive or expressive language disorder.Have an IQ of 71, or higher
Struggles with spelling when writing stories, and cannot easily sound out unknown words when reading

Virtual Tutoring with Koala 3D
Dyslexia Specialist of Northwest Ohio, LLC offers virtual reading, spelling, writing, and math (multiplication) tutoring for dyslexic individuals of all ages. Students connect with their tutor online via a screen-sharing platform called Koala 3D (pictured below). Koala 3D livestreams the video and audio of participants while simultaneously allowing the student and teacher to use their avatars to interact with the environment.

About our Payment Model:
Dyslexia Specialist of Northwest Ohio, LLC operates on a tuition-based payment model which keeps pricing and payment simple. Your tuition is charged monthly, and is the same each month regardless of the number of days in that month. We tutor year-round for a total of 46 weeks out of the calendar year (52 weeks) so there are 6 weeks taken off for holidays, vacations, sick days, etc. and this is split into 12 equal payments due the 1st of each month.
Lesson Pricing:
We count all siblings together for purposes of tuition rates.
2 lessons per week: $450 per month
3 lessons per week: $660 per month
4 lessons per week: $810 per month
5 lessons per week : $1,010 per month
6 lessons per week: $1,200 per month
7 lessons per week: $1,400 per month
8 lessons per week: $1,600 per month
